Ballard Designs Inspiration

It has been a cold rainy day here on California’s central coast. The day was spent catching up on some household chores and spending time with my little guy. It was nice to just stay home, warm and dry. I lit my fall scented candles and figured today was a good day for a indoor project. The CSI Project is having a “Ballard Designs Inspired Challenge” here:

When they announced this challenge I decided to browse through their site to see if there was anything that would inspire me. I found several things that I absolutely LOVED, but I figured I would only have time for one project so I needed to decide on one. When I saw this magnetic board I knew that was the project for me! Here is a picture of my inspiration:

I dug out this metal sign that I purchased at Michael’s in their clearance section and because I don’t live in a bar it needed a makeover! I collected some scrapbooking paper, mod podge, a little ribbon and got to work!

Here is how it turned out:

So what do you think of my Ballard Design knockoff? Theirs costs $39 and I spent $5.99 for the sign and used ribbon and paper I had on hand!
