Decoupaged Stars

I love taking items that are “cheap” and turning them into something that looks, well, NOT cheap! The $1 store often provides great items to use as the base for some great projects. I found these stars at the $1 store around the 4th of July. I have to say, I’m a little obsessed with stars. I’ve got several in my home. So when I found these for a dollar I knew I needed to pick some of and do SOMETHING with them.

I knew I wanted to cover one of the stars with sheet music. I just love the look of sheet music! I found a couple books of sheet music at some thrift stores. I used Mod Podge to attach the the pre-cut shapes to the stars. I also primed the stars as I was afraid that the original design would show through.

I wanted to do another one and I just couldn’t figure out what to Mod Podge onto the star. While rummaging through my stash for some ideas I cam across a vintage baby book. My mom had it as an extra baby book that was never used. Lucky for me she held on to it though! I thought the images would make a great star for a nursery.

Hope you enjoyed my $1 store star makeovers!!!
