I’ve Been Framed!!!

I love picture frames. Maybe because I love pictures. I feel like picture frames are a way to display art IN art. I also like the idea of putting unsuspecting things on picture frames. So I decided to look through my stash and find some fun things to add to some picture frames.
For this frame I decoupaged a piece of scrapbook paper onto the top. I also painted the sides and the inside where the picture goes a coordinating color. I them used a rub-on I got in the $1 section at Michael’s. Have you checked out their $1 section lately? It’s got some pretty awesome things! It’s pretty simple but I love it!
For the next one I wanted to get a little more creative. I added the paper and painted the sides like before, but this time I added an old door knob and plate. I found the knob and plate at an antique store on a trip to Illinois. I also added another rub-on.
The hardest part is cutting out the opening for the picture to show through. I wanted to try and avoid seams in the paper. It was tedious work, but so worth it!
I can’t to make more, the possibilities are endless!
