My Fall Wreath and a FAIL!!!

As I said, I am slowly getting back into the groove! I have SO many Christmas projects just itching to get outta my head, plus I have a Holiday Bazaar on Dec 4th that I NEED to get ready for! Getting settled is taking precedence right now and the weather seems to be working against me at the moment (more on that later in the post).
On to my fall wreath!!! It was a pretty simple project (which are the best right?) and I love how it turned out. I simply took a wood twined wreath and added some lovelies from Michael’s!
I love my little scarecrow couple!
I took a beaded and berried garland and wrapped it around, then took a matching swag at tied it to the top with an orange ribbon. I love the combination of the leaves and berries with the jewels! ‘Cuz everything is better with a little bling right?
Yes that is my new door! I will have to post pics of the new place soon!
Now on to my project FAIL!!! Well I don’t think it’s a total fail….but we’ll see, I haven’t saved it yet! Our new home has a bar at the kitchen so I wanted to have a couple bar stools for casual dining. I will expound on the bar stool journey once they are finished….I’m staying optimistic!!!
After getting the paint the way I wanted it I started the process of adding some polycrylic. I applied one coat the one of the stools and left it to dry. I came back out to find THIS:
I am THINKING it was because it was too cold. But if anyone has any ideas as to what the heck happened here? Ugh! It makes me sad to look at!
Here’s hoping I can save my bar stools and here’s hoping I can get my Christmas crafts rolling!!!

  1. Awe! The scarecrow couple is so cute! Pretty wreath!

I’ve never seen that happen to paint. 🙁 It might have been too cold. I think it has to be at least 50 degrees and if it goes lower than that at night, maybe that had an affect. ? I know you can fix them! 🙂

Thanks for linking to the DIY Fall Festival! Have a great weekend!

  4. Your wreath is adorable! I had that happen with some plates and sealer…I was guessing the cold too.
