Advent Calendar Hanging Tray

I am always on the look out for metal trays when I am thrifting. They can be used for so many things; memo boards, chalkboards, and even advent calendars!
The tray I started out with for this project was already made for Christmas. It just wasn’t my taste, but for $1 how could I pass it up? It’s  probably some cool vintage tray that someone is going to give me a lashing for painting over it, so I’ll just say SORRY now!
I gave it a couple coats of primer and of course RED!!! On this particular day I wasn’t in the mood to work with vinyl, so I just cut out the numbers and letters on cardstock and Mod Podged them on. The thing that is awesome about Mod Podge is not only does it “glue” your items but it seals everything as well! That way I don’t have to worry about my paint getting chipped off as the magnet is used for years to come!
I added some fabric flowers to the corner to give it a little pizazz! I don’t know about you, but I am just loving those flowers right now!
I even made a little flower to glue to the magnet.
A fun ribbon at the top finishes things off and makes it possible to hang.
I really love how it turned out and it sold at the Holiday Bazaar that I sold at on Saturday! I’ll need to make more…off to look for more metal trays!!!
