Countdown Blocks

I have seen several versions of countdown blocks. I am quite in love with them, so I decided to try my hand at it!
I made it with a winter wonderland color scheme; blues, whites, and snowflakes!!! I used 2 large wooden blocks that I found at Michael’s and a 2×4. I then painted it all a bright snow white.

I cut out squares of scrapbook paper and simply Mod Podged them onto the blocks. I also Mod Podged the numbers and letters to the wood after I used my Cricut to cut them out.

I made these for a Christmas present and I sure hope that the recipient loves them!
On another note….does anyone else feel like their legs hit the floor running in the mornings lately? When I was a kid this time of year seemed so magical and I couldn’t wait for Christmas day to come (which seemed to take forever). Now I feel like I am hoping for time to slow down in enough time so that I may enjoy a moment or two before it’s all over! Ahhhh off to bake, wrap presents, and do some crafting : )

  1. I am going to have to use this idea! I bought an adorable Santa count down thing for $5 at the Dollar Store and just love it!! There is one problem though…they did the number blocks wrong and they are the same and I am missing numbers!! How did you do the numbering on the blocks?

  2. Kristal~ This is how I did the numbers:
    Block 1 – 0,1,2,3,4,5
    Block 2 – 0,1,2,6,7,8

The #6 doubles as a #9 so make sure you use a font that the 6 looks like a 9 when it’s upside down!

  3. They turned out great! I’ve really got to make me a set!

  4. Stoppin’ by from Scraptastic Saturday. Your blocks turned out beautifully. So precisely and artfully done! Cheers! Jenn
