Spring Wooden Pedestals

I have seen some wooden pedestals floating around in blog land and I have loved their look! I added wooden bowls to my list of things to look for while thrifting.

I was able to find a few and I already had some wooden candlesticks on hand. I glued all the pieces together using Gorilla Glue Epoxy, adding wooden circles to the bases for more stability.
I painted this one with Rustoleum’s Spa Blue, ahhh doesn’t that just sound nice?
I sanded the pedestal and added just a bit of stain for a slightly distressed look. I thought a little nest would look perfect in this one. I used part of a small wood wreath for the base and some Spanish moss to fill the nest. A couple small eggs rest in the nest; I am just loving Spring!!!
I also made a pedestal out of a little flower shaped bowl that I picked up.
I painted it with Candy Pink by Rustoleum, again sounds great right?
I love the fun flower shape of the bowl and painted pink it is perfectly girly! I imagine it filled with jewelry or sweet candies.
So, there’s my first go at wooden pedestals. I think they turned out lovely!!!

  17. Hi Courtney,

I love the way you combined the candle sticks with the bowls. They kind of look like huge goblets. They turned out great. I am thinking to make something like this.
