Thrifty Thursday #13

I haven’t had hardly any time to do some thrifty shopping lately! I drove by a thrift shop the other day and thought, “Wow I haven’t been there in weeks and weeks!”. Luckily I’ve had a few little thrifty trips to keep me sane!
These are the few goodies I was able to find! I picked up that picture mostly for the frame. It looked like a really nice old frame. There was even a lady in line at Goodwill that was drooling all over it.
There is a thrift shop on the base here that I try to visit often. On my visit this week I found this small table. I instantly fell in love with it, it’s lines and details. I totally want to paint it….but the warmth of the old wood is appealing too!
I also found this interesting metal…..pitcher? It’s hard to really imagine that this was used as a beverage pitcher….but it sure looks like that’s what it is. I loved the green color, the sweet polka dots, and the aged metal. I’m definitely intrigued by this find!
I found this little gem at Goodwill….and not the typical Goodwill. Did you know that there is an online Goodwill store? It’s an auction site and it’s pretty awesome! I won this old scale and received it this week. I was thrilled when I opened it….although my husband probably thought I had officially lost it!
Linking up to these great link parties!

  1. Great finds! I just bought an old scale a couple weeks ago and my hubby wasn’t amused whatsoever! “You like that rusty piece of junk?” Haha! I really like that “pitcher” too. Very cool!

  2. Great finds. I love the table. Its got great lines!

  3. You always find some of the coolest stuff! I am in love with the scale and the pitcher thing.

  4. My mom had a scale just like this when I was a kid! It worked until I broke it by pushing on it too hard one day, then she just set some old books on top of it on the mantle! Cute blog! I love reading it!

  5. Winning thrift items…novel idea 🙂

  6. I have a scale like that and I adore it….glad to have found your blog!

  7. Awesome antiques!

  8. Ooooh! Beautiful finds! I love the scale (we found one and can’t wait to get our DIY built-in shelving in the kitchen done so I can display it. What a cool metal…pitcher too! Okay, the table and frame are awesome as well. I wouldn’t have passed any of those by either! lol

    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Lucky you to find so many nice things, I love the table and I hope the scale works, it will look nice on your new shelf.

  10. Your finds are absolutley fabulous!! Can’t wait to see what you do with the table.

I have a vague memory of my great-aunt having metal “pitchers” like that. Similar shape, different colors. She called them “dry pitchers” and kept sugar, corn meal, etc.

This is probably not what they were used for, but what she used them for. She was the queen of repurposing. She even had one in the “washing” room as she called it, for Borax I believe.

  11. LOVE your finds… I’m a goodwill junkie myself, though mine doesn’t seem to have the awesome gems that yours does!!!

  12. Oh, Ah, wonderful finds.

  13. What a fabulous old picture; wouldn’t change a thing except to clean it up a bit. It’s a beauty!

  14. Just found your blog, and I am so glad I did!!! Lovely finds!
