My {Summery} Mantel

After finishing my Summer pennant banner I was inspired to Summerfy my whole mantel. Summerize? No? Moving on! Since everything else Summer related I have done thus far has been blue and yellow I figured why not keep going?!?
Here’s the whole shebang!
The first thing I did was prop up a cream and blue oar against the old chippy window in the back. I then decided to make a small yellow chalkboard to hold a fun little phrase. I have more for sale in my Etsy shop! I perched the yellow chalkboard on top of an old sand colored book, because who doesn’t like reading a good book by the water? These electrical insulators came out of my stash; I thought the colors looked great on the mantel. A sweet starfish finishes this side of the mantel off.
I added a couple more books to warm things up a bit; they are both bound in pretty shades of blue. What’s a Summer full of fun without a camera to capture it all? I plucked an old Kodak camera off of a nearby bookshelf and placed it on the books. An old blue mason jar is filled with some pretty sea glass and fluffy white hydrangeas spilling out the top. I added a glass buoy that I picked up recently and called it finished!
How about some more photos just because I am lovin the Summer mantel?
