{Summer} Pennant Banner

I’m finally getting around to giving my mantel it’s Summer makeover! It was more than time for the moss Spring mantel to be tucked away until next year! The first thing I needed for my Summer mantel was a focal point. There is something about pennant banners that make me think of Summer, I guess maybe it’s baseball origin.
I picked out some fabric….I told you I was digging the whole yellow and blue thang! I might as well run with it while I’m loving it!
I grabbed some pieces of chipboard and cut out some pennant triangles. Using the chipboard as templates, I cut out the fabric to size. I wanted the fabric to lay nice and flat, so I Mod Podged it onto the chipboard triangles.
I used hot glue to attach twine to the back of the triangles, alternating fabrics.
I wanted the pennant banner to be on temporarily, so I just taped the twine to the back of the window.
It’s so bright and cherry, makes me smile! Now what to do with the rest of the mantel??? I’ll post about that next week!!!
