{Bookin} Book Pumpkin

For whatever reason I seem to be obsessed with old books and sheet music. I’m not totally sure why? I like to read but I’m not an avid reader and I have never read music nor do I play a musical instrument! I just like the way they look…..and it seems like there are endless ways to use both. So, I continue to buy them up. There is no old aged book or stack of old sheet music that is safe around me!
Fall also seems like such a good time to use books for crafts. I have already made some sheet music and book page decoupaged pumpkins this season but why stop there? I decided to give a book page pumpkin a try.
I made a template with some cardboard and used it as a guide to cut the pages of the book. It wasn’t the easiest thing and it took awhile to get through the whole book. Granted I picked a pretty thick paperback book because I wanted the pumpkin to be full. As you can see it’s not perfect, but what pumpkin is perfect right?
I used another cinnamon stick and some moss for the stem, maybe because that’s what I had on hand and maybe because I just really like the look of it. I think overall it turned out really cute and I kinda want to make more. I’m listing this little guy in my Etsy shop!

  1. I totally agree! I am a musician and a music teacher and I adore all the things you do with old sheet music. I have a huge stack of it and am so tempted to re-create some of the things that you do, but the musician in me screams, “Don’t waste the music!” So until I get the nerve to use it myself, I shall live vicariously through you. 🙂

  2. Hi! Love it! I just made one of these last week. They are so easy and fun!
