Gobble Gobble To You!!!

Both of my children are walking around the house today saying Gobble Gobble!!! I think it is their way of saying “HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!”
Since I’m not in the mood for a heavy Thanksgiving post this year, here are some Thanksgiving fun facts………

91% of Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving day.

Thomas Jefferson thought the concept of Thanksgiving was “the most rediculous idea I’ve ever heard of”(Obviously not a stuffing-your-face-with-your-family-stitting-around-watching-football-and-taking-a-nap-kinda-guy!

Fifty percent of Americans put the stuffing inside the Turkey.

More than 40 million green bean casseroles are served on Thanksgiving.

Twenty percent of cranberries eaten are eaten on Thanksgiving.

The Plymouth Pilgrims dined with the Wampanoag Indians for the First Thanksgiving. (Is that like having your family AND inlaws over for Thanksgiving?)

The five most popular ways to serve leftover turkey is as a sandwich, stew, or soup, salad, casserole and stir-fry.

Eating turkey does not cause you to feel sleepy after your Thanksgiving dinner. Carbohydrates in your Thanksgiving dinner are the likely cause of your sleepiness.

Six hundred seventy-five million pounds of turkey are eaten each Thanksgiving in the United states.

So whether you are spending the day with family or friends, whether you are eating a turkey or tofurkey, or whether you take a nap while watching football or get stuck washing the dishes……

I hope that you and yours have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!

Or as my kids would say “Gobble Gobble”!!!
