Christmas {Doily} Bowl

So I woke up yesterday morning with a sore throat and cold. Ugh. Not what I needed right now! I guess getting sick never comes at a good time though does it? I decided to call it a day as soon as my hubby got home last night and headed to bed! Hopefully this passes quickly so I can get all the things done that I need to get done!
Today I’m going to share my Christmas Doily Bowl. I found these Christmas red doilys at Michael’s for $1 and I knew I had to snatch some up to do something with them! I have seen some doily bowls around and they are beautiful so I though these holiday doilys would be perfect to make bowls out of.
It’s a pretty simple project, all I did was cover one of my red doilys in white Elmer’s glue and squish it around. I wanted the doily to absorb all of the glue and for the whole thing to be covered. Then I laid it on top of an upside down bowl covered in plastic wrap. I let it dry for a couple days and then just popped it right off.
I love how it turned out and I love the idea of using a doily bowl to put out candy. Can’t you just see it filled with some old fashioned Christmas candy??? Although it looks so cute holding some of the vintage Christmas ornaments that I found.
Such a simple and easy project but makes such a cute statement!

  8. Thank you so much for posting this! I’ve been looking for a DIY craft for doily bowls! I finally found them at Michael’s and bought about 10 of them (they were about $1 each). So now that I have them, I really want to try my hand at making these bowls. Thank you!
