My Image Inspiration

A couple weeks ago I posted about My Colortopia, a totally awesome site that helps you find color inspiration for your life. I am a huge fan of paint. Pretty much if it isn’t nailed down, I might just paint it. Although, picking the right color is sometimes the hard part. Do you ever see a photograph and think “THAT!! I want my space to look like THAT!” but you can’t figure out how to translate those colors to paint colors.

Check out My Image Inspiration by My Colortopia. You can plug in any image that you love and pull the right paint colors from it. I decided to try it out and show you how fabulous this little tool is!!!
I found this beautiful picture where else? Via Pinterest!!! I uploaded my inspiration photo to My Image Inspiration and selected the area that I wanted to pull color from. I clicked the “show colors” button and pulled up 6 different colors that corresponded to my inspiration photo. I clicked on one of the colors that I liked and that pulled up two samples of color palettes.
If you don’t see the colors that you expected or like, then play around with the tool. You can drag the little box around, resize, and place over the desired objects in the image. Once you have done that you can re-click “show colors”. This way you can narrow down your color palette and narrow in on your preferences.
What a FANTASTIC way to decide on colors for you home. I think we ALL see photos that stop us in our track and make us say “Wow, I want my home to feel like that.”. Now we have a way to translate those photos into real paint colors. No guess work.
Now if only they had a widget that painted the walls for me, then I’d be good!
Linking up to these great link parties!!!
I have been sponsored by Glidden brand paint to write this post but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
