What I Look For When I’m Thrifting

Typography Photography - Thrift Shop
A few weeks ago I wrote about How to Thrift Store Shop, sharing my tips and hints for successful thrifting. Today I’m going to talk about what I look for and what I’m drawn to when I go thrifting.
1. Curvy Vintage Furniture
2. Old Books & Sheet Music
3. Outdated Technology
4. Frames
5. Tarnished Silver
6. Architectural Salvage
7. Vintage Items
8. Utilitarian Objects
I am sure there are many more categories and there is always something random that I spot and MUST have. For the most part though, these seem to be the things that I love most! So now that I’ve told you what I shop for, I’d love to hear your thrifty check list!!!

  2. great things.. here in Nederland it would be a fortune… these are nog thrift things here.

  3. I envy you if you find such gorgeous items at your thrift stores…trust me, here they have “caught on” to the vintage trend and all these items are super marked up!

  4. I was wondering if you had any advice for a first time thrifter? Also, do you know of any good places in Northern California or a site that may have a list of ones to go to? Thanks!

  5. OK. I need a new thrift store.

You sure know how to score great finds!

WELL DONE – neat post, my first visit here.

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  6. I love thrifting too! What do you do with things like cookbooks, sheet music and outdated technology? How do you get the furniture home? 🙂 I have stumbled across good things several times, but we just have cars. 🙁

  7. You and I have many of the same things on our checklist! 🙂 I wish I could find things like this at our local thrift stores!! I usually have to wait for a really good estate sale or shell out lots of money at antique stores.
