Thrifty Thursday #46

Alright it’s time to get THRIFTY!!! On my recent girl trip to San Francisco we made a little stop in Berkeley at a place called Urban Ore
What is Urban Ore? Well it’s 3 acres of salvaged and recycled items. When I stepped out into the “yard” I was awestruck by what I saw before me. Just look at all those windows! There were rows and rows and rows of old windows.
Or how about some doors??? There were tons of those too, both old a new.
Maybe your in the market for some toilets???
I ended up buying a bunch of windows. 8 to be exact. I probably would of left with more had my hubby been there with his manly mussels.
I tried to pick a variety of windows in different sizes and shapes. Like I said, I wish I could of come home with more but these 8 wonderful windows make me so happy.

Even though when you look closely you can see that these windows are quite menacing! The amount of broken glass that was on the ground at Urban Ore was amazing! If you go make sure you wear closed toed shoes….unlike me who very carefully rocked my sandals
Linking to these great link parties!!!

  1. So jealous! 😉 I wish we had place like that to shop. Love your windows.

  2. Oh wow, what great finds! I’d love to get my hands on some more old windows or doors!

  3. About how much are the windows and doors there? I have been looking for both in my area and everyone wants a fortune.

  4. Yeah!!! I can’t believe I won! And I love how the picture of you on the toliets turned out 🙂 You and the hubs should take a trip here together!!!! Have a couples’ weekend!

  5. Okay, but I still want to see what the windows will be turned into! So be sure to post about that someday, pretty pretty pretty please! 🙂

  6. Great find! That place looks awesome.

  7. Oh, how we all love old windows. Fabulous finds! I’ll be telling my friend about this place… she lives quite close to SF and I’m not sure she’s heard about it. Thank you!

  8. Yes, even 8 doesn’t quite seem like enough, does it. I got two at the longest yard sale and it was DEFINITELY not enough. How were the prices at the place you went to? I’d love to hear and see what else they had for sale and how expensive it was.

  9. We have a Habitat for Humanity restore in our town and they sell old windows like this for $5 each! Love it! You got some great finds 🙂

  10. I’m all about thrifty, although I’m not sure about a thrifted toilet…I will definitely have to check that place out next time I’m in the area! (which will probably be next week, because I rarely go a week without san fran!) 😉

  11. Fun! Fun! Fun! We have an architectural salvage place like that in Dallas. I love to spend my lunch breaks there 🙂

  12. I love all of your finds. I have a link party on Wednesdays, and I would love it if you would link this post. It is called Wednesdays Adorned From Above Link Party. It runs from Wednesday to Sundays.
I hope to see you there. I would love for your to follow me also. I am a newer blog trying to get more followers.
    Have a great Day.

  13. I’m not sure they have any place cool like that here in STL. But I think I’ll have to go look.

  14. Finding one of the was on my to do list for this week, coincidently:) Thanks for the inspirations!

  15. Wow, I need to find that place and go shopping!! I received an old window from a friend and I’m still not working on it yet. Have an idea but it’ll have to wait for another day.
Great finds and would love to see what you do with them all!
Saw you sharing at Transformation Thursdays
    Debbie 🙂
