Halloween Countdown Plaque

Halloween Countdown Plaque
Since I decided that it was not too early to decorate for Halloween, it has left my kids a little confused with how far away it actually is. They both keep asking if it’s time for Halloween yet or how many days until Halloween. So I decided that we were in huge need of a Halloween Countdown Plaque.
I started with:
-Wood plaque

-Scrapbooking paper

-Chalkboard vinyl

-Mod Podge w/ sponge brush

-Craft paint

The first thing I did was paint the back, sides, and just a little bit of the front of the wood plaque with black craft paint. I decided that I wanted to go with black to contrast with the paper I choose and really it was easier then trying to match the orange color.
Once the paint was dry I added my orange and white polka dot scrapbook paper to the wood plaque. I thought using Outdoor Mod Podge might be a good idea since I would be wiping at the plaque everyday to change the numbers.
Then it was time to add the vinyl chalkboard and cardstock letters. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and chalkboard vinyl. I used the Mod Podge to add the letters to the wood plaque and slapped on the vinyl chalkboard once it was all dry.

It was pretty easy to put together and it turned out so cute! I ended up loving it so much I made a few to put in my booth! I’m keeping this one because I’m loving the polka dots and it goes with my Halloween decor so well!
Geez 33 days left! My daughter wasn’t too happy once she found out just how many days it was until Halloween.

I used a chalk pen to write out the numbers on the chalkboard vinyl, all you have to do is use a wet rag to wipe it away. This is the first time I have used chalkboard vinyl and I have a feeling I will be using it lots more in the future!!!
