Show Your Colors

Whenever I am getting ready to paint something, whither its’ a room or a piece of furniture, I am always looking for a little inspiration. Sometimes it just makes it easier to take the paint plunge when someone else has jumped off the deep end of color already! So now instead of scouring the net for inspirational before and after paint projects, there is one place where you can not only get that inspiration but you can even upload your before and after photos to share with others.
This place is the My Colortopia’s new Show Your Colors before and after section! The super awesome part is the photos are uploaded by readers, aka: YOU!!! No superstar designers just super talented DIYers. Not only can you view all the amazing before and afters but you can upload your painted masterpieces to inspire others!!!

Here is a little paint project that I recently did, taking a huge color chance! This is how my old buffet table started out…..

Here is the after of my buffet table, now turned entertainment center….

And here is my living room all done…..

Head over to Show Your Colors to browse through all the great before and after photos and maybe share a few of your own!!!

Linking up to these great link parties!!!

  1. I love the color and the reuse of this piece. Plus, now that it’s in the room it really doesn’t scream television. I’m drawn to all the fun items around it as well.

  2. This is soooo beautiful! I love the color you choose and everything looks so nicely framed around your tv (your shelves!) and I love the decorations you have on your shelves too 🙂

  4. Wow, what a transformation!!! I’m a HUGE fan of the teal and it really pops. Love the teal picture frames as well:)

  5. Aqua love! Nice work! Thanks for the reminder that it doesn’t have to be labeled an “entertainment center” to be used as one!

  8. Great job! I love the color. Are those the original knobs/handles? They look great too.

  9. Beautiful! We have a similar sideboard that we keep going back and forth on about painting it (me!), or not painting it (my hubby!). Yours looks fantastic! {Came over from the Craft O Maniac Link Party}

    I would love to try something like this, but I am wondering, where do you put the components (i.e. dvd player)? In a drawer with a ventilation hole drilled in the back?
