Here is what they looked like when I got them. They are country blue and in pretty bad shape, but I knew I could do something fun with them!
So I took one of them and had my hubby cut it in half. He also cut some boards for the backing (so the cards don’t fall through the back). Here’s my handsome hubs and his power tools!
Ta da! Now it’s painting time! Well after we sanded them a bit it was painting time.
I choose to paint them a bright Christmas red and do some distressing.

I added some rosettes at the bottom in fun Christmas fabrics. I decided to add some pearls too! Why? I don’t really know, I just go with it!

And more pretty flowers!
They can be hung on the wall or just propped against it. I think it would be cute on top of a entry way table leaning against the wall!

So there ya have it! From yucky shutters to fun and functional card holders!
