If you’ve been reading along the last few weeks you know that I’m in love. With moss. Well ok, I’ve always been in love with it….but this Spring it has hit me hard! I just want to cover everything with it. I may need to go to meetings. But not before I share my Spring Moss & Glitter Glass Banner.
I started with a roll of moss (you know it comes on a roll right?), some chipboard pennant shapes, German glitter glass, and chipboard letters. I also used some twine, Mod Podge, and clear spray paint to finish things off.
I started the project by cutting the roll of moss into pennant shapes, using the chipboard pennants as guides. Then I used hot glue to attach the moss to the chipboard pieces. Since the sheet moss is fabric like but heavy I wanted to give it more stability and structure.
For the letters, I used some Mod Podge to add the glitter glass to them. I applied a thin layer to the letters and used a spoon to sprinkle the glitter glass over them. Once they were dry I gave them a shot of clear spray paint to seal the glitter in.

I attached the letters to the moss covered pennant shapes with some hot glue. Then it was time to get it all strung up. I grabbed some twine and attached it to the back of each piece.
I can’t tell you how much I dig the natural and earthy moss paired with the sparkly and shiny glittered letters. This pairing make me so happy. Why? I’m not sure, it’s just so visually appealing to me. I hope you enjoyed my Spring Moss & Glitter Glass Banner as much as I do!!!

Fall Chicken Wire Banner http://adiamondinthestuff.com/2012/09/fall-chicken-wire-banner.html http://adiamondinthestuff.com/2012/09/fall-chicken-wire-banner.html#comments Fri, 07 Sep 2012 07:00:00 +0000 http://174.132.189.156/~adits/2012/09/fall-chicken-wire-banner.html
The first day of Fall isn’t for a few more weeks, but I feel like Fall is already upon us. I’m already seeing pumpkins everywhere and all I want to do is craft for Autumn! I have a long Halloween and Fall crafting to-do list so I better get started!!! I’m starting with a Fall Chicken Wire Banner.
I decided to use some of my rusty pennant banner pieces from my previous Chicken Wire Pennant Banner project.
I basically used the same steps as I did in the previous chicken wire banner, just with a Fall twist. I used some rusty gold glitter to add some sparkle to the chipboard letters.
I think this little banner is a great way to usher in Fall. I’m mean honestly, what is better than glitter and rusty chicken wire???
So who’s ready for Fall??? What Fall inspired projects have you been up to?

USA Pennant Banner http://adiamondinthestuff.com/2012/06/usa-pennant-banner.html http://adiamondinthestuff.com/2012/06/usa-pennant-banner.html#comments Fri, 22 Jun 2012 07:00:00 +0000 http://174.132.189.156/~adits/2012/06/usa-pennant-banner.html
Now that I’m back to reality I realized that I better get busy with my 4th of July projects before the time comes and goes. Holiday crafting is always hard for me, I usually have more ideas than time. I always vow to start earlier than the year before. So lets not waste anytime and lets check out my USA Pennant Banner.
Wanna tutorial? Well your getting one either way ; )
Supplies:
Burlap Pennant Shapes (5)
Chipboard Letters & Shapes
Glitter
Mod Podge
Twine
The first thing I did was glitter the chipboard letters and stars. I added a layer of Mod Podge to the fronts of the chipboard and covered them in Martha Stewart Glitter. I alternated between red and blue glitter.
Shake off the excess glitter and allow the Mod Podge to dry. Once it is dry, add another layer of Mod Podge to seal in the glitter. It may appear to dull the glitter a little but in my opinion it’s better than having glitter all over the place.
I used hot glue to attach the chipboard to the burlap pennant pieces and the pennant pieces to the twine.
There it is all finished in it’s star spangled glory.
The burlap against the glittery letters makes me so happy. Glitter and the 4th of July go together like….well….like fireworks and the 4th of July!!!
I love it strung up on my white picket fence. Although it would look great strung up on a mantel or shelf too.
What do you think of my USA Pennant Banner? Have you been up to any patriotic projects lately???
