Clipboard Teacher’s Gift

Let me start this post by saying….Is there anyway to get through the Christmas season without getting sick? Ugh! I have not found a way. Yes, I either have a really nasty cold or the flu. Either way it’s awful! Yesterday I didn’t get out of bed. all. day. Thank goodness for Tylenol Cold and Flu and thank goodness for my awesome hubby!

Now on to the good stuff………………

In the rush to buy presents for your kids, your spouse, your siblings, your friends, and your Great Aunt Mildred you may forget that one person who spends almost as much time with your kids as you do. The person who teaches your child, who nurtures and supports your child through their school year. Can you tell I think teachers are amazing???

My daughter started Kindergarten this year and she actually has two teachers that job share. They are both amazing women and I am so thankful my daughter has them!

I wanted to make them something fun and personal! Somewhere in blogland I saw where they decorated clipboards and I knew this would be a terrific idea!!!

I started by painting the edges of the clipboard with white paint so that my paper didn’t have to go all the way to the edges of the clipboard. I then cut my papers (3 different kinds) to fit on the board. I didn’t worry about the corners being rounded; I just used sandpaper to get rid of any overhanging paper.

I used Mod Podge to attach the papers. I also used it to glue on the names that I had cut out with my Cricut. Once the Mod Podge had dried from gluing the paper down I went over the entire project again with Mod Podge, sealing and protecting everything.
I finished things off with some coordinating ribbon on the clip. I think they turned out great and I sure hope they both know how appreciated they are and what a blessing they are in my daughters life!!!
Don’t forget to thank your kids’ teachers! They are underpaid and under appreciated these days!

  10. @ Lauren: The clip comes off. So once I had the paper attached and the Mod Podge dry I re-attached the clip.

  14. These look great and I think its a brilliant idea. Im in the process of making a couple for my kids. Just thought I’d share another idea you can do with them and that is first paint them with magnetic paint before decorating. That way you can put magnets onto it as well. jackie

  15. That’s really sweet and nice gift ideas i like it.

  16. Just a suggestion, but if you decorate the back of the clip board instead of the front, the recipient gets to enjoy your artwork even when the board is in use. Super cute!

  17. How did you get the paper under the clip part?
