Does anyone else hate those huge slabs of mirror that you see hanging above bathroom sinks? I understand they are cheap but man are they boring! When your in a renting situation there’s not a whole lot you can do about it though.
This is our guest/kid’s bathroom and this is the monster mirror that lives there. Since I can’t frame the mirror in the traditional sense I thought I would add a little interest in a cheaper more temporary way. I found a couple of oval wood frames on a thrifting trip. They were pretty good size and only $.99 each!!!
They both got a good coat of black spray paint and they were pretty much done.
I grabbed some muslin and ripped a couple long strips. I looped them through the frames and tied the ends off with a bow.
Notice that towel holder in the corner? My mom gave me my Grandmother’s old step stool several months back. It’s speckled with all kinds of paint and it’s all chippy and fabulous! It makes a great towel holder for my guests.
I think the frames add more interest to the big bank of mirror. I’m not quite done with this room yet but I’m loving the direction that it’s headed!

love this idea, because I can’t FRAME my entire mirrors like this because they have rounded edges. What a great solution. Thanks for sharing. Keep the ideas coming!

The frames are adorable – I have to say though – I LOVE the ladder for the towels!!! So Cute!
Love that! I would never think of anything like this! And I love the step stool for a towel holder! Again, that would never even cross my mind! So creative!

Great idea! I also just got a ladder to put towels on, but it is 6′ and will need to be propped up on the floor. I love the shabbyness of it!
Great ideas!! I have been trying to find a towel holder for the hand towel and fingertip towel in our pink/black vintage bathroom – and seeing what you did with the frames gave me the idea to use smaller oval frames painted black (with pink ribbon), then hang towels through. Thanks!!
