Have you seen the beautiful bouquets of flowers placed inside of a hollowed out pumpkins? Beautiful right? But we all know how quickly those pumpkins turn disgusting right? So we could substitute a craft store foam pumpkin! However, those can get quite pricey! My solution? My $1 Cheap Pumpkin Planter.

While I was pulling out all of my Halloween paraphernalia from last year I came across some items that I bought for crafting purposes. Among those items was this bright green jack-o-lantern that I picked up for a buck last year in the intentions of doing something with it.

There it sat until this year. I decided that it was time to turn this cheesy jack-o-lantern into something fabulous. First, I popped the black plastic handle off of the plastic pumpkin. Then I painted the pumpkin Heirloom White (by Rustoleum). Obviously I still had to turn the pumpkin to hide the lovely “face” of the pumpkin. Even though the paint covered it, the indents were still there.

Once the paint was dry all that was left to do was pop my pretty fall flowers into the new pumpkin planter. You can find cheap faux flowers at places like the $1 store or wait for a great sale at one of the craft stores. You could also put real flowers or a potted plant in the pumpkin if you have a greener thumb than me!

Pretty simple and inexpensive!!!
