Thrifty Thursday #39

Welcome to Thrifty Thursday!!!
I picked up this sweet little table at my local thrift store. What I’m trying to figure out is, was it made with the formica top or did someone add the formica top? My next question is, should I cover the formica up or work with it and totally retro the whole table out???? What would YOU do?

I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for an old fan. Okay maybe ever since I started going to antique and thrift stores. It’s been awhile. I was super duper thrilled to find this chippy aqua fan for under $20.
I’ve also been on the search for a galvanized bucket. I have a project planned….can’t wait to work on it and show you guys!!!
I was driving around on base yesterday and noticed a pile of wood out for trash. Lovely weathered wood! Another must find on my list. It’s pretty awesome to check so many “must haves” off my list!!!
Linking up to these great link parties!!!

  1. Oh I love the fan..What are your plans for it? Does it still work?

  2. Great finds! Love that little fan!

  3. I too am curious as to what you will do with the fan.. Love it!

  5. Love the fan. I’m an addict myself…that and old phones. My two favorite things…well, I also love ball jars and crates too…so pretty much, I’m a hoarder.

  6. I want a bucket just like that! I wonder if we have a similar project in mind. I guess I;ll have to wait and see….

  7. Oh, I’m so jealous of your fan. I found the same one at a flea market but someone had spray painted red over the aqua. I started trying to get it off and never finished. It’s quite a job and the aqua comes off too. Love the wood. What will you make with it? I’m following you now!

  8. We are thrifting sisters separated at birth!

I found a similar blue fan recently and have had great galvanized bucket scores too.

Happy to be following to see what else you find!

  9. This is I was over at the party at “I Heart Naptime” and your fan caught my eye! What great treasures you found this week! I had pretty good luck this weekend. I found one of my “really-wants” – an old kitchen scale. I will be posting about it later this week! Isn’t it so much fun to find something you have been searching for?! An old fan is on my list as well. . . Enjoy your weekend!

  10. again. I am your newest “link” follower!

  11. Ooooooo – love the fan, love the bucket, love the wood…

  12. Ooh LOVE that fan and the wood…I have an old aqua fan I found at a flea market and was shocked to plug it in at home and find that it still works! One of my favorite flea market finds to date 🙂

  13. Great finds! Weathered wood & buckets are some of my favorite things!

  14. I just love thrift stores! these are some great finds! I would love for you to share these at my link party

  15. Came over from Live, Laugh to see your finds. I am a sucker for vintage things. The table you found is a vanity table. Originally it would have had a full fabric skirt all the way around it to cover the legs and drawers. The Formica was added at a later date. Some have pull-out arms under the edge of the front to pull out and hold the fabric back to get to the drawers. I love its curvy front! I’m becoming a follower to see how you deal with the Formica!
