For some reason, this year, my daughter is really interested in just how many days it is until Christmas. Like she was asking a couple months ago how many days. When I would answer “Oh a couple months!” she would insist on knowing the exact number of DAYS that she was required to wait until Christmas! So now here we are, finally close enough to actually start counting down the days!
What better way to do that then an advent calendar that you can fill with treats, or holiday activities, or bible versus. It’s up to you!
I rummaged through my stash in the garage and came up with this picture frame that I bought at a yard sale. I painted it a nice Christmasy (is that a word?) red. I added a cute ribbon for hanging purposes.
I Mod Podged some burlap to the backing of the frame and attached the back to the frame.
I glued some metal tins to the burlap covered backing and added some scrapbooking paper and vinyl numbers to the tops of the tins.
I also Mod Podged the lettering I did with my Cricut to the burlap.
I’m thinking chocolate! Lots of yummy chocolate in each of those numbered tins! Oh wait! It’s for the kids? Well maybe not! Ah ha vitamin filled tins! Umm….they don’t seem to like that idea! Ah well!

You did a wonderful job on this! That frame is perfect and I love the shade of red. I also love changing up the advent calendar for scriptures, etc. (while the chocolate does get them out of bed!)
