Hey that rhymes! Now that the holidays are over I find some spaces in my home that are now empty. Places that were never really filled from moving into the new house and that went straight to being filled with Christmas stuff. So I am going to try and use some of these spaces for seasonal decor, no matter the season!
I picked up some paper mache letters at Hobby Lobby (I don’t say this casually, the nearest HB is 3 1/2 hours away. Aforementioned visit was squeezed into our trip to Arizona to visit my mom. Oh how I long for a local HB.) I digress.
How I did it, in order:
-Painted the whole letter (wait to dry)
-Cut the paper to fit
-Mod Podged the paper to the letters (wait to dry)
-Sanded the overhanging paper down
-Mod Podged over the whole letter, paper and all (wait to dry)
-Add embellishments!!!
I used red & white polka dot paper and a pretty black and white paper. I don’t like to go too literal with holiday themed papers. I like to stick more to color schemes that fit the holiday.
I just played around with them embellishments at first. Not really knowing what I wanted to do or use. I didn’t want to over do it but I wanted to dress things up a bit. I am happy with the way it turned out!
I love this flower the most! I just took some pretty ribbon and glued it in a circular pattern on a large button as the base. I added a couple pieces of ribbon underneath and glued it all on. Love it!
Notice those doilies? I got them from the $1 section at Michael’s! They restocked that section after the holidays and there are some great things in there, you should check it out!
So there you have it!
Linking up to these great linky parties!!!
This is soooo cute! I also love the damask “O”! You could always make an orange “B” and use them for Halloween. I think I’m going to do this project! Thanks for sharing!
These are great. I think I’ll have to make some for my home!!
I really am sad for you about the whole Hobby Lobby thing. I live in central OK, smack dab in the middle of HB country. I guess I should stop taking it’s goodness for granted!! Ha!!
Love your blog too!!
