Picket Fence Sign

Some of you may remember the white picket fence I did in my daughters room. I had some of the boards leftover from the fence project that have been sitting around for oh say, 5 months! It was about time to put them to good use!
I decided to not sand down the board at all. It was pretty rough but I wanted it to be rough for the final look. I panted the board with a flat black spray paint.
I cut out some vinyl with the Cricut and placed the letters on my painted board. With the rough board, I had to make sure that I had the letters attached really well. I wanted to make sure that I had as little over spray as possible.
I sprayed over the vinyl letters with Heirloom White spray paint. In the future I think using brush on paint as a top coat would be better than spray. I just always have spray paint at the tip of my fingers so that’s what I used.
I peeled off the letters to reveal the black paint beneath. There was a minor amount of over spray, but it was just enough to help with the worn look.
It was a fairly simple project and I really loved it! I want to make more….trying to think of all the fun different things I could put on the signs.
I sanded the edges and the face of the sign a bit to add to the aged look. You can see a bit of the black peeking through.

I love love it! I already have a lemonade one in the works!
