Since I spent the past five days with this nasty cold I’ve done NO thrift shopping. It’s been a couple weeks now because weekend before last I was at the Remnants from the Past Vintage Show. I’m yearning to find something fabulous for $1. I need a good deal!!! So since I can’t show you my thrifty finds, I will show you a recap from my last craft make and take night!
This past Saturday I invited a bunch of local ladies over to my house for a night of crafting. Since it was October I wanted the craft to be related to Halloween in someway. I couldn’t choose between two ideas so I went with both. You would of done the same thing right?
I decided on a chunky wooden pumpkin and a gumball machine candy holder. I’ve been wanting to do both projects and this was the perfect excuse! I try to choose somewhat uncomplicated projects since I have people attending at all different crafting levels.
I think that everyone really enjoyed the projects and each of them came out really unique. I know that a lot of the girls talk about how un-crafty they are but they always whip up some pretty amazing end results. Everyone was leaving at different times but I wanted to document everyone’s finished products.
Not only are they all beautiful ladies but they created some beautiful pumpkins and candy jars!!! Some sly ladies were able to escape with having their pictures taken, but this gives you a pretty good idea of all the creativity that was there that night!!!
These were my example projects! I will show you tutorials tomorrow so you can see how we made them!

Hi Courtney! I just found your blog over at The DIY Showoff. I’m so glad I did. I’m really looking forward to following along and seeing all your wonderful creations and fun parties. I have a question. How do you plan your craft parties? Do you purchase all the supplies are give the guest a supply list? Do you purchase them and charge a fee from each guest for the night? It’s a great idea and I know it must take a lot of planning. What about food? Are you interested in sharing or keeping these tips to yourself? Just curious.
Hugs…Tracy 🙂 (your new follower)
Hope you’ll stop by and visit me too.
