While perusing Pinterest I found some pretty glitter lightbulbs and knew that I could run with this idea.
I bought some old school replacement bulbs off of Ebay. This brought back memories of me helping my grandparents put up their Christmas lights every year. My Grandpa would unscrew every single bulb and put it back in it’s box before putting the lights away. Then every year we would have to screw them all back in, making sure they all followed the pattern. Geeee all my OCD stuff now makes since!
I broke out the Mod Podge and put a thin layer on the colored part of the bulb.
Next it was glitter time! Thank goodness I have a big stash of Martha Stewart ultra fine glitter, ya never know when you will need to glitter something!
Glitter glitter glitter until you get a bunch of glittery light bulbs that look like this!
I glued some small round magnets to one side of the light bulbs and there you have it! The most sparkly, Christmasy, totally awesome magnets ever!
Wouldn’t they be awesome to put all your Christmas cards and pictures up on the fridge? I used one of my small magnetic chalkboards to display all of the Glitter Light bulb Magnets!!!

i love these! i glittered some bulbs, but i didn’t think to make them magnets! love it!
LOVE these! I had done something similar with old nightlight bulbs but just painted them to tie onto a garland. I love the idea of glitter…..

These are totally cute. I have some glitter Mod Podge and wonder if it would be glittery enough, thus saving one step. I’d love to string a set of these as garland for the tree.

Perfect idea to do with those old large bulbs that have the color peeling off of them or even the bulbs that are burnt out but not broken, Love it!
