Vintage Suitcase Table

In my efforts to de-stash my house and garage, I have begun looking around at my random odds and ends. There are times when I’m on the hunt for something specific but most of the time I just run across items that I must have! This results in a garage full of pieces to projects.
A while ago I found a pedestal table. The top of the table was broken and had been repaired with….HOT GLUE. Needless to say, the top was not salvageable. This table base sat around for quite some time while I pondered what to do with it. It wasn’t until I picked up this small vintage suitcase that the answer came to me.
The first thing I did was paint the base of the table Heirloom White. I gave the whole thing a good distressing to add to the antiqued look.
The “top” of the table was already drilled with four holes. I used those four holes as a template to drill four holes into the bottom of the suitcase. Using some screws and nuts I attached the table base to the suitcase.
I went ahead and left all the original interior inside the suitcase. I just loved it’s vintage look and it is in pretty good condition.
Not only does this suitcase make an adorable little table, it also provides great storage! It could hold a throw blanket or magazines. I also think it would make a super cute bedside table!!!
What do you think of my sweet vintage suitcase table?
