So it’s not a stretch to say I love pennant banners. I just love the endless possibilities of them. You can use almost any kinda of material and any saying. It’s pretty hard to find something that hasn’t been done….until one day it hit me. Chicken Wire Pennant Banner.
Supplies:
Chicken wire cut into triangle shapes
Chipboard letters
Mod Podge
Glitter
Twine
Hot glue gun & Glue
I decided on the word “HOME” for my banner. I grabbed some fancy chipboard letters I had lying around and decoupaged some champagne colored glitter to them. I think I have an unhealthy love of glitter.
Once the glitter and Mod Podge was dry it was time to attach the letters to the chicken wire. This was easier said then done. Getting all the hot glue in all the right places was a bit tricky, but with a little patience I got them all attached.
I used some twine to string all the wire pennants together, trying knots along the way to keep all the pieces in place. String it up and your done.
Rusty chicken wire and glitter…..perfect!
I just love the glam and rustic feel of it. Glamtic? Maybe not. How ’bout country chic???
I strung it up between my two DIY topiaries. I just love it!
Linking up to these great link parties!!!
Very original and very “country chic” . I have to say I don’t have chicken wire hanging around though . . . LOL! I am amazed that yu thiughtnofmthis and at how nice it looks, who would’ve thought chicken wire could look so elegant? I share your unhealthy attraction to glitter BTW.
Have a great day!

What a FABULOUS idea… looks great!!!
Absolutely amazing and so innovative! I love pennant banners, too (as you will find on my blog since I’ve shared my two paint chip banners and a sheet moss banner in the same shape). I don’t know why I never noticed before that chicken wire is made up of hexagons which are also popular for decor this year.
Thanks for sharing such a cool idea!
Happy Weekend 🙂

Happy to be a new follower!
You had me at chickenwire! LOVE this:)
uhm… don’t mean to sound silly. but where is the best place to find chicken wire?
i live in south florida – and i can’t think of a place where i’ve ever seen it.
i searched home depot online but they have some green or black “poulty wire” 🙂
feedback would be greatly appreicated!
I found mine at Home Depot. It should be in the same area as the poultry wire and other fencing materials. For me it was on one end of the store, there is also roofing materials and concrete on that same aisle. Hope that helps!
I just LOVE this!!! So creative…and I want to make one!!
