Thrifty Thursday #53

It’s Thrifty Thursday!!!
I don’t have a whole lot to share this week….except this totally awesome old dresser!
Ok, so it’s seen better days. See all of that lighter wood? Ya it’s lighter because all of the veneer has been pulled off, leaving behind a rough unattractive surface. And yes there appears to be a gimpy drawer that has a piece broken off of it.
Then there is a mirror. I love that there is a mirror that goes with the dresser….on the other hand it also has peeling veneer and one side is broken off of the frame. What would you do? Keep the mirror with the dresser or find something else to do with it?
Look at those curvy legs though! Oh and I love the key holes!!! OH I can’t wait to tackle this project! I just can’t wait!!! Did I mention how much? $30. Ya pretty awesome!!!
What color should she be???
Linking up to these great link parties!!!

Yesterday I shared these Chicken Wire Christmas Trees. They make a fun wreath alternative and look great with ornaments or holiday cards clipped on.

  1. Fantastic finds!! I think I would look at the peeled veneer as a “gift!” 😉 Now you can totally be creative without having to make the choice to “ruin” gorgeous old wood! LOL

  2. The dresser with the mirror would make an amazing dining buffet in a green or red distressed finish. My friend has a similar dresser in her dining room and it is really striking, especially now at the holidays all strung with garland and lights. I can’t wait to see your finished project!

  3. oh my goodness, great find. Maybe a great navy? Anything will look great. Fabulous post, love. If you get a sec, I’d love to hear your thoughts on my new post and latest style column for LaurenConrad.com. xo

  4. I am in love with the dresser. I would keep the mirror. From other projects I have watched you do, I am sure you will think of something spectacular. As for the chicken wire? I adore anything made with it. Cute alternative to a wreath!

  5. Love that dresser! What a steal!

  6. I LOVE that dresser! It is one of my favorite styles. It will so be worth all the hard work when you’re done with it!
