Thrifty Thursday #54

I actually get to share a Thrifty Thursday with you all today!!! I know it’s been awhile….but I’ve been trying to get some projects completed. I have been trying to avoid certain hot spots lately…like thrift stores. It’s been quite painful really. Somehow no matter if I’m looking or not….thrifty goodies seem to find me!!!
I couldn’t resist this sweet chippy little table. Isn’t it cute? I can’t wait to give it a little paint makeover!
I love old trunks! Love them. This one will be painted for sure….anyone have any advice on painting trunks? What paint works best?
A friend of mine was selling these old window flower boxes. Aren’t they awesome? Old windows, chicken wire, and planters ready for Spring. How could I resist???

So have you found any thrifty treasures lately???

Linking up to these great link parties!!!

Yesterday I shared how I turned my Plain Armoire into Office Space. Come check out how a boring armoire turned into a functional and beautiful work space.

  1. Great finds! I actually like the trunk just as it is. But that yellow might scream “school bus” when it’s in a room. It’s pretty cool, though. 🙂

  2. Great stuff! I think I would have bought all the same things. I wonder if you can get the spray paint off of all of the metal parts of that trunk….hmm..

  3. Awesome finds. I am in love with the trunk.

  4. Hey Courtney;
    I cant wait to see what you do with the Beautiful Flower Boxes for Spring!!!!

  5. Would you be selling the yellow trunk? I would be very interested. 🙂

  6. Love, love the yellow trunk!

  7. Great finds! I also have a slight obsession with trunks of all kinds & grab them whenever I can. I’ve had great luck with enamel paint on metal trunks, but have also since switched to using chalk paint for most of my makeovers. I used chalk paint on the last trunk I just finished & the results were beautiful. I took some 150 grit sandpaper to the metal parts on the last trunk I did & it came off with hardly any work at all & revealed some amazing brass! I’m sure it depends on what it was previously painted with, but maybe worth a shot to see what kind of fun is hiding under that yellow? Good luck & great finds!

  8. Love your finds! I can’t wait till garage sale season to find some fun things! (Our Goodwill/thrift stores aren’t that great here.)
