I can not tell you how many windows I have amassed. Let’s just say….a lot! I have ones with glass, ones without. I have ones that are chippy, ones that aren’t. I have single pane, two pane, four pane, 6 pane, you get the point! I love to do all sorts of fun window projects with them, you can see the proof HERE. Coming up with new ideas for my window addiction is not always the easiest but I sure do love when I can.
This blue, white, and chippy window was missing it’s glass and was kinda sad. However the blue chippy paint was speaking to me and I decided to turn it into a Magnetic Map Window {memo board}. I just knew I had to find a map with that blue in it and would all come together.
So I started out with some sheet metal, cut to fit inside the two openings of the window. Then I used some Mod Podge to attach an old map to the sheet metal. If you are wanting to attempt this project and need some Mod Podging tips check mine out HERE. After I attached the map I did a couple coats of mod podge on top of the map once it was dry. Then I took the metal pieces outside and sprayed a few coats of Mod Podge spray sealer.
I attached the map covered metal pieces to the window with some good ole E6000 glue. This stuff is awesome.
I feel like the map and all it’s colors somehow bring all the craziness of the window together. I also am amazed I was able to get the map lined up so well on those two pieces of metal!
Now this shabby window is a super useful magnetic memo board. I think it would make the perfect home for travel photos, postcards, and travel wish lists.
So now a little trivia….can you tell me what location is show on this map???
