Give Thanks Mantel {Updated}

Give Thanks Mantel {Updated}

It’s crazy to me that I created my Give Thanks Mantel 4 years ago.  I love it just as much today as I did the day I  put it all together. Although it has evolved a little bit, so that is why I wanted to do a little post update on it!

Give Thanks Mantel {Updated}

Well one of the biggest and most obvious changes is my current mantel! At our last home we lived in military base housing and we literally had a shelf above an electric fireplace. I wasn’t complaining though because prior to that there was no shelf. There was no fireplace. So that little shelf was a step up for me. Since then we have moved. Again. We bought our very first home and it has a huge fireplace and mantel.

I added a large 9 pane old window to the back of all the mantel decor. Now that my mantel decor is on this larger more impressive mantel, it needed something to make the set up stand out more. It needed a larger presence!

I am kind of amazed that all these years later, I still love my Fall Mantel. Usually my attention wanes and I get board of certain decorations. My taste evolves and I refresh. This one is still perfect 4 years later!

Give Thanks Mantel {Updated}

I can’t imagine ever wanting to change my Fall Give Thanks Mantel, but I’m sure the day will come. Until then I will just enjoy it’s warm neutral colors, different shapes and textures, and just general beauty!

  1. I love your give thanks mantel. I have to get busy with mine. I really have to paint my family room first. My mantel color wood and marble are almost exactly the same color. I’m always so scared to put color on my walls. It’s decorator white. Boring. Yours is pretty. Would you mind sharing what color you used. And do you have crown molding? I hate trim work. Do you? My ceiling is high. Maybe 10 or 12 feet. Ladders scare me .yikes.

    • Thank you Carol! Yes my ceilings are 10ft tall so getting up high is a struggle! My wall color is “Lazy grey” by Sherwin Williams. I do have crown molding that is painted white. We actually paid to have the whole interior house painted when we moved in. It’s a good size home with those high ceilings (had them painted too) so it was just worth it to have someone else do it for us!

  2. Thanks Courtney. I may just think about hiring someone to paint too. I just hate paying someone all that money for the labor. They do have all the right tools and ladders and stuff. Guess it wouldn’t hurt for me to look into it. ( the hubby is afraid of heights ) so he’s not gonna do it ! Thanks again and happy fall.

  3. I loved and pinned your original mantel and love this one as well. Congrats to you on your new home!
