Going Green {Window Cleaner Edition}

Earth day is approaching (April 21st) and I wanted to share a few of my more earth friendly cleaning recipes. I say “my” recipes because I have used them and tested them out…..not actually came up with the recipes myself. Sometimes it’s nice to know that a recipe is tried and true before testing it out yourself! I first posted about my Window Cleaner, September of 2010.
Here are the supplies you need:
-1/4 Cup Vinegar
-1/2 Teaspoon Liquid Soap (I use Dr Bronner’s Castile Soap)
-2 Cups Warm Water
-1/4 Teaspoon Lemon EO (This works as an antibacterial, anti fungal, and a antimicrobial)
-Spray bottle (Use old cleaning bottles, thoroughly cleaned or a bottle from the dollar store)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Shake it up really well before each use and get to cleanin! Use newspaper or a lint free rag to wipe the surfaces down. If you have been using commercial products to clean your mirrors/glass you may notice some “fogging” up when you start using this window cleaner. It takes several times to completely rid your surfaces of the leftover residue leftover by them.
Not only will you eliminate harsh harmful chemicals in your home but you will save yourself some cash as well!
